Developed by Atlus, Digital Devil Story - Megami Tensei is the second game of the Megami Tensei series, released in 1987. The last game in the series to be released for Nintendo Famicom before the franchise moved to more modern platforms. It was quite controversial in its time due to the dark theme and moral ambiguity, but found an audience that enjoyed more mature and complex RPGs. It became the basis of the Persona fame throughout subsequent titles.
